Web Design is 70% Planning and 30% Implementation. You Plan it, We Design it.
1) Couple of A4 papers
2) Pensil and Rubber
Every page of your website has 3 components
1) Header: Your logo and Menu goes here. It is shared by all pages
2) Body: The main area where information lies
3) Footer: Many things can go in Footer e.g. Inbound Marketing Apps, Social media links, Newsletter Subscription Form, Text and Images, Contact Forms, Emails, Address. This is also shared by all the pages.
Logo: Logo sits on the corner left of the Web Site on all pages. One can have a Logo or Name/Message instead. We can help you to design one.
Menu: On the Top Right is the Menu. This is also present on all pages. Menu connects all the pages on your website in a Hierarchical architecture. Once you have decided on the Number of Pages and the Contents, you can decide on the Menu structure. On the right is an examples of Corporate Menu, which will give you an idea. There can be more than 1 menu, but we recommend you to have only one, unless you have a Big business and large number of pages.
Lets Design the Main Page
Search Engine Optimization is important part of Web Design. Do read our article on DIY-SEO.
We have placed divider just to depict how the rows were created and the rows were then divided in columns and individual blocks of information were placed in each block. The divider is optional and is just for depiction. Normally its not recommended to divide rows in more than 3 columns as it will look messy.
Step 1: Take a A4 paper. Draw Few Rows. You can add more Rows as required.
Step2: Divide each rows in as many columns as required. You can even leave Rows undivided. The columns can vary in size.
Now you have Blocks where you can fill with Text, Images, Buttons, Offers, Pricing Table and other components. Proper layering of Text, Images and Buttons forms an important part of your page. For each Block of Text provide a header which describes what it is. It is important from SEO point of view. Read our article on DIY-SEO. You can source in the relevant images from internet. There is large collection of Free Images at Pixabay and other similar websites. Just google for ‘free images’. You can also buy photos from paid websites such as Shutterstock or similar other image providers. You can even use images from your products or office. If your requirement is highly specific you can request us for Custom made image.
Suggestions on choosing Images:
1) Select rectangular image 2:1 to cover the full width of web page.
2) Select square images 1:1 for images on side of text.
3) Try finding the image with white background. It blends better with text.
4) For Blogs use 2:1 image.
We can alter the image size if required.
Designing the Footer Section of Website
Like the Header Section, Footer Section will be present in all the Pages. The Black section below is the footer section of this page. This is divided in 3 columns and multiple things can go in each section. e.g. Social Media Icons and Links, Text , Images, Email, Phone Number, Contact us Form, Newsletter etc.
Plan for Inbound Marketing Apps
As you can see below are Inbound Marketing Apps Integrated to the website. To the Bottom Left are Social Media Icons and to the Bottom Right is the Newsletter Form. Both can be selectively popped out on selected pages and blogs and visitors requested to leave a trail which you can follow. Get our Free Inbound Marketing E-Book.
